Not to sound so negative

Sometimes, being alone is my favourite part of the day.

Gratitude Countdown

I feel so blessed. On this day I feel like singing my personal anthem,”I Could Not Ask for More”.
While trying to come up with a wishlist for my birthday, I realized I don’t really have a lot of material desires. I have lots of other wishes but they cannot be bought nor touched. And so instead of forcing my brain to think of the material things that I like I decided to just come up with a countdown. I will count the366 things that I am thankful for until I reach my 30th.
So I begin today, the first day of my 29th year of existence. And I say thank you to and for the people who brought me into this world - my PARENTS. I am who I am because of heir love and support. I love my Mum and Pops!

Having a Mary Heart in Our Martha World

Luke 10:38-42

This is the passage that we reflected on today in our Bible Study. And I knew that we will be asked who we could identify with and as much as I wanted to say Mary, who chose the better part, I think I am really more of a Martha. I’ve always been a Martha.

Sometimes, women in our times cannot help but be a Martha, in a world where everything has metrics and expectations are high. I am partly a Martha because of this but I think even before working, my character has really been that of Martha, getting things done, busy, trying to do the productive thing.

But I also have had that desire to be Mary. And after the session today, I am working on having a heart like hers. These are the 3 points that Mia shared with us today and I’d like to share it too.

To have a Mary-Heart, we should remember these 3 Cs.

1. Choose God’s way

2. Commit to God daily

3. Cultivate a “hot” heart (not cold nor lukewarm, see Rev. 3:15-16)

I won’t say this is easy because I know it isn’t and the Holy Spirit really touched me more than ever in this evening’s session. But I am resolving to work on this. Not only because it’s a new year but because I want to be the child that My Father wants me to be.

Resolving to be a little more positive everyday. And to stay hopeful even when things seem bleak.

Ten Thousand Things: Thoughts about God today..

jimparedes:

Have you ever wondered why bad things happen to good people? That must be one of the big questions of all time. Some people will say it’s because He has something better for us after. Others will say it is punishment. I don’t buy either.

The truth is, we will probably never know. We can only…

I will not just go through the motions everyday.

Look Pretty Everyday (another NY’s resolution)

Admittedly, I get lazy to doll up. It’s really not my thing. But after seeing my photos, I think idiotic make the effort to at least put make up even if I’m not dressed to kill. That way, if suddenly I’d have my picture taken, I’d still look pretty.
